I’m Kate. I’m an artist and a writer. I make things – mostly out of reclaimed fabric, but I also love to paint and write. And I could never choose which I loved most, so now I don’t choose, I just do, as the mood takes me. You can find me on Instagram where I take pretty pictures of all the stuff I love and share my creative muse. I write for No Serial Number Magazine and keep promising myself I will one day finish the novel I started when I was 15. My blog here aims to chart my journey through self employment, home education and saving the planet. Not necessarily in that order!
I love nature, and dry stone walls, paint under my fingernails, and standing with my bare feet on the land and my face to the sun. I love stories. The stories of people, the stories of stuff. I love the idea of carrying stories forward, and of birthing new stories that honor the old. Hippy or witch? I’m maybe both.

  1. I’m very interested in the content on your website. Unfortunately, the font and background colors makes it very difficult to read on a tablet. I will try my computer for reading it. I’m an artist, maker, and mender so I’m very interested in what you have to say.

  2. Dear Kate, well you are a breath of fresh and ingenious air! I am also an artist and maker, I started re-making clothes and encouraging others to do so, by teaching them to sew and recreate their own clothes in 2009. And I have always done patch up and wear again, to my own clothes and secondhand buys from charity shops too, including dismantling them completely and making a different garment altogether. Good luck and I will send everyone in your direction. Best wishes, Gailxx
